July 2013 marked Lincoln Park's 8th Annual Music Festival in Newark, NJ.
The 4-day festival consists of Jazz, the annual "Newark Idol" Youth Showcase, Gospel, House & Hip Hop along with a packed park of local vendors selling food and merchandise.
Newark's skate shop The Kanek, offered a skate boarding clinic for all to enjoy, whether you were skating or just watching from the side.
In prior years, Rock Steady held their anniversary on Sundays in conjunction with the Lincoln Park Festival, this was the first year that RSC brought it back to NYC after many years in NJ. Nonetheless, the hip hop line up was very much anticipated with features from EPMD, Redman, Naughty by Nature, Black Thought, Lords of the Underground, MOP, Artifacts, Rah Digga, Hakim Green, Das Efx, Mr. Cheeks, Kwame & Rappers Delight (The Sugarhill Gang).
Hosts Big Sev & Lauren Craig held down the beginning of the festival and kept the crowd energized until Ralph McDaniels & Ed Lover took the stage.
As dedicated festival goers know the traditional rain hits every year, this year the extreme downpour closed the festival out once MOP hit the stage with Cold as Ice.
It was a great festival weekend, with a slew of talent that hit the stage and most importantly no violence.
